Helium Testing
Pinpoint leaks in underground piping and reduce excavation
costs!

Helium testing
finds
leaks in piping buried under dense soils & pavements.
Our helium testing technology pinpoints leaks without incurring the
expense of excavation!
Helium testing is accurate & economical for
finding leaks. This process is
versatile and can be used on any size or type of pipe including underground storage
tank systems
·
oxygen systems ·
fuel lines ·
pressurized cables ·
petroleum service stations ·
any pressurized/sealed system with a leakage problem.
Low half-day rates available.
No charge for drilling along the pathway.

Helium Testing - Frequently Asked Questions |
How does helium testing work ?
 |
First, our technician
injects the piping or vessel with helium gas. Why?
Helium is the lightest inert gas and will escape from any leaks in the
piping or vessel quickly. This means that helium will penetrate
the surface easily. Helium gas is also ideal because it will not
react with other elements making it safe to mix with hydrocarbon vapors.
|
 |
After injecting the system
with helium gas, our state of the art helium detector will pinpoint any
cracks or holes in the piping or vessel by identifying helium gas in the
problem area. This is an extremely accurate and sensitive method
of locating leaks.
|
 |
Helium testing
drastically reduces the time needed to pinpoint leaks. Helium
testing is also very inexpensive when compared to traditional
methods of pinpointing leaks such as excavation and visual leak
inspection.
|
Can helium testing be
used to pinpoint leaks on an underground storage tank system that has
failed a tank tightness test?
 |
YES. Repairing these tank
systems will no longer involve major amounts of "guesswork". Our
helium test can identify an area where the trouble exists such as tank
tops, man-way gaskets, vent lines & vapor recovery systems.
Helium testing will identify problems in all these areas without
excavation.
